How many people can say they spent Memorial Day 2004 at a mortuary? I can. Our friend, Brian, lives and works for a mortuary in downtown Omaha. We grilled steaks, hot wings and ate outside. It was lovely! We’ve been over there before, and even celebrated New Year’s Eve at the mortuary. Brian’s an excellent host. We rounded out the evening listening to some class rock in one of the funeral chapels, followed by a two-hour drive around Omaha. Memorial Day weekend couldn’t have ended any better.
Well, that’s not entirely true. Matthew and I rented “Love Actually” last night. I could only make it through the first 45 minutes. I didn’t like it that much.
Here’s a few photos from Monday’s fun :-)
You’re right on both questions :-)
Funny story about the shirt: Matthew bought the original Pop Mart shirt years ago on tour (Denver, maybe?). Since meeting him, I realized the original shirt was literally falling apart. He was worried the holes would get bigger and he’d be forced to retire one of his favorite pieces of clothing. So, for his birthday, I found the shirt online (without the tour dates on back, like his has). He likes it :-)
And, yep, I bought a house last year, around 120th and L.

Re: oh no, west o
I know, I know… My family thinks I live in “West O.” But, honestly, I’m more midtown, when Omaha extends to 204th Street. Sheesh! I did, however, remain far enough south.
The mini iPods are pretty cool. I’ve seen ’em in person. Macworld Boston is in a few weeks. I’d wait to see if they announce anything different: http://www.macworldexpo.com
