At 12:40 a.m., Matthew turned 24. Yeah, Matthew! Happy birthday to you!

random stuff i love
“Angels and Demons” by Dan Brown (I almost like it more than “The Da Vinci Code.”)
Franz Ferdinand (Thanks to Matthew for the album. Holy shit! They’re good.)
Carnation Instant Breakfast (In both chocolate and vanilla. I’ve been having a glass for breakfast every morning. Yum.)
My Chuck Taylor tennis shoes (They kick ass. That’s all.)
My pink necklace, referred by some as my “Marge Simpson necklace.” (It’s cute, got it at Target. Love it.)
Summer nights (Like Wednesday evening. Gorgeous weather.)
“The Heart is a Lonely Hunter” by Carson McCullers (Yeah, I know it’s the new Oprah pick, but I’m enthralled with the book so far.)
My iPod (That goes without saying much else.)
so bad, they’re good

wow
OK, so I know I’m 25 (halfway to 26), but I was glued to the TV last night watching the season finale of “The O.C.” on Fox. What a good TV show. I’m being serious, here. The entire season came full-circle last night. And the soundtrack? Let’s just say Jeff Buckley will forever make me weak in the knees. Can’t wait until Season No. 1 hits DVD. Can’t wait for Season No. 2 to begin.
Happy Thursday.
P.S. I leave for the real O.C. in seven days! Seven days! Seven Days!
i love tuesday
I worked until well past 10 last night, helping Jason lay out the paper. As such, I don’t plan on going into work today. A 14-hour work day is plenty, thank you very much. I need to buy Mother’s Day cards and gifs today. I also want to hit up Sam’s Club and look at their book titles. They often have good books for cheap. Then, I may walk through a few thrift stores.
I was supposed to write a profile on this woman for The City Weekly today, but she’s out of the office. Hmm…
Know why I like Tuesdays? Because I rarely have anything planned. That’s just so damn awesome.
i’m famous (sort of)
For this week’s Living story, I wrote about new books for summer readers, per suggestions from the folks at the John Rice Public Library in Bellevue. The page’s layout was really cool, as we included 10 book covers next to my story. For the headline, my editor did something a little funky, a little different.
Know who that is? ;-)
a cool idea
This guy certainly has some balls…

sunday morning
This weekend has gone by too fast. It’s already Sunday morning. I need to be at work by noon. After work, I have my cousin’s First Communion party. Last night, I had a 50th wedding anniversary to attend. I feel asleep after finishing “Angels and Demons” by Dan Brown. I awoke on the couch around 1 a.m., then went to bed until 7 this morning. I feel rested, but where has my morning gone?
slap my ass and call me sally!!!
I’ve been working here at Nu-Trend for nearly a year now. It wasn’t until TODAY that I brought my PowerBook to work on an iMovie for my mom. As I wake my PowerBook from sleep, the network signal indicates a wireless high-speed network here at Nu-Trend. I asked Travis, and he confirmed. Holy shit! I’ve had the option to surf the Web from my Macintosh for nearly a year, and never knew about it! This is fantastic. Good-bye, crappy PC running Windows XP and drowning me in pop-ups. Never again will I use this P.O.S. Dell again!
A new day has come! A new day has come!
Welcome to my first post at Nu-Trend, from my wonderful Macintosh :-)
this makes me laugh!
Now, I’m not here to push my political opinion down your throat, but I found this online ad rather humorous. (Thanks to the New York Times, by the way.)
