one year later

Matthew and I celebrated our one-year anniversary last night to the exact day we first met, which happened to be at a Jayhawks concert at Sokol. I can’t believe how quickly this past year has gone! It’s been one of the happiest 365 days, that’s for sure :-)

Here are a few photos from last night’s celebration…

The two of us, as the evening began.

Another cute photo!

My dinner at Prima 140.

no! no! no!

I really, really, really, really DO NOT want to go to work today. I want to spend a Sunday at home, like the majority of people I know.

help, please

See my new LJ icon way up there? I like the photo, but I’d love to have a very slim border (black or white) around the image. How do I do that?

warm socks

I’ve not yet decided whether I want these because they’re a fabulous idea or because they’re socks with the Apple logo.

old, then new!

First, my old glasses…

…and my new glasses!

giggle, giggle

When you’re emailed something like this, you can’t help but to laugh.

slam omaha

My new favorite Web site to click through (when I really should be working).

i need sleep

Getting up at 4:30 this morning to accomplish a list of tasks (taking out the trash, cleaning Frank’s litter box, wrapping Matthew’s anniversary present, putting away my clean clothes, checking my e-mail, making my bed, balancing my checkbook) sounded like the perfect idea. Now it’s well past 7 and I need to get ready for work. But my eyelids are heavy and my bed is looking rather comfortable.

I want to go back to sleep.

the incredibles

I saw the new “Disney presentation of a Pixar film” Wednesday night. “The Incredibles” was cute, but Pixar does a better job of portraying characters who don’t normally speak: toys, insects, monsters and the like. Not that the story behind “The Incredibles” wasn’t creative; it was. I would just rather be ensconced in a world of make-believe for a while.

Maybe that’s a lame argument, because superheroes are make-believe (depending on whom you ask).

hooray for the holidays

As of Monday, I’ve officially begun my Christmas shopping. I’m so proud of myself, I must say. I’ve discovered, primarily through trial and error, that it’s best to begin early. That way, I can spend my Christmas dollars wisely and intermittently. Beginning early also allows me time to leisurely wrap my purchases. It’s the perfect plan!

But what do I want this year? Hmm…

P.S. My birthday is in 18 days. Oy.
