love
I love the Internet. I mean, I really, really, really, really love this damn thing.
Oy.
ryan adams!
Let me say this much: I never knew the talent and raw beauty of Ryan Adams until I saw him perform last night at Sokol. What a show, what a show, what a show. Not only did Ryan chat incessentialy during his three-plus-hour set, but he played beautifully. Sure, Ryan rambles like a crazy person, but don’t we all at one point or another? He also loves interacting with the audience, proven when he threw one of his guitars into the audience. At which time, one of the guitar strings got caught on this women’s belly ring. Ryan stopped the show and demanded the house lights be turned up. Ryan leapt onto the floor to assist this damsel in distress, then made sure the guitar belonged to her. Awesome, eh?
I wanted to stay until the show’s end, but at midnight Ryan didn’t show any sense of winding down for the night. Toward the end, and during his encore, Ryan would play one new song then take a request from the audience.
Classy!

My attempt to create a “lifelike” icon of myself. What do you think?

tacky yet awesome
When you load “The O.C.” Web site at Fox.com, you hear “Any Way You Want It” by Journey, rather than “California” by Phantom Planet. Odd and tacky, yet awesome at the same time.
“The O.C.” begins in T-minus 15 minutes.
today
I really should leave for work, but there’s something so lovely about being at home in the morning. Even though it is 30 degrees outside, it still looks so very pretty.
Have you tried Crest’s new vanilla mint toothpaste? You should. I was out of toothpaste yesterday and had a $1 off coupon for this “flavor.” I just used it this morning. It’s fantastic! The vanilla flavor is nice, not too sweet. The mint flavor is muted, not overwhelming that my eyes water and my nose runs. I give it two thumbs up.
Tomorrow is the GAG (Gateway Alumni Group) meeting and get-together at my house. We do this about once a year. I hope there’s a good turnout, and I hope we get something accomplished.
What else? What else?
I really dig wearing scarves, heavy sweaters and my winter coat. Fall is finally here.
Frank gets de-clawed next Thursday. I’m a little worried how he’ll feel after the procedure, but I know this is a good decision in the long run. Matthew and I are covered in scratches, and my furniture will soon show wear.
Oh! And Tuesday is the Ryan Adams concert. I’m so excited I could spit.
Happy Thursday, and happy Veterans Day.
