I Love Thee, Audrey

I don’t believe I’ve shared this before, but I absolutely love Audrey Hepburn’s style. Her entire look is something I continually strive for, from the cropped hair to the skinny pants and petite sweaters.

I discovered my love for Lady Audrey in the 1954 film, “Sabrina.”

Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em

This weekend I had the pleasure of seeing “Thank You For Smoking.”

Despite my general distaste for Katie Holmes at the moment, I enjoyed the flick immensely.

An Open Letter To Starbucks

Dear Starbucks —

I love you.

I mean, I really, really, really love you. Up until about a year ago, I didn’t drink coffee, lattes or anything with caffeine.

But I discovered you and realized how happy you made me.

You made me trust you, with your delicious drinks (warm and cold) and your satisfying pastries.

You showed me a beautiful side of yourself, in the form of a Cinnamon Dolce Latte, with her sweet flavors of brown sugar, cinnamon and butter.

{shiver}

And I fell in love with your Cinnamon Dolce Latte. To the point of crazy/mad love. This single drink made me swoon.

And, perhaps foolishly, I began planning our future together, anticipating the next time I’d order another one. Enjoying a Cinnamon Dolce Latte on a Saturday morning or after lunch on an uneventful Tuesday afternoon.

But on my way to work last week, I swing by my neighborhood Starbucks only to realize I won’t be enjoying a Cinnamon Dolce Latte until December at the earliest.

You have discontinued My Favorite Starbucks Drink for another eight months; yet there’s no guarantee Cinnamon Dolce Latte and I will meet again when this year draws to a close.

Starubucks, you broke my heart.

Until I need another latte fix, and I’m bellied up to the counter ordering a White Chocolate Mocha.

Regards,
-W.

Fields of Berries

Anyone know if “Strawberry Fields” by The Beatles has ever been remixed? I heard “Strawberry Fields” on CD 105.9 FM (my favorite classic rock station in Omaha) last week and thought it’d be a song a talented producer could have some fun with.

Happy Easter

Welcome To The Neighborhood

The house next to me assumed new ownership a few weeks ago.

At first, I was extremely skeptical about the folks living next door. They left a lot of junk lying in the yard, similar to the rental property across the street. As a homeowner the past three years, I’ve become very aware of those living around me.

However, my mind has been changed.

Their backyard, complete with new plants, mulch and a concrete bench, has changed my mind. They’ve installed outdoor lights lining the front porch and an American flag hangs from the house.

Can You Decide?

NBA OR NFL?

36 have been accused of spousal abuse

7 have been arrested for fraud

19 have been accused of writing bad checks

117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses

3 have done time for assault

71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit

14 have been arrested on drug-related charges

8 have been arrested for shoplifting

21 currently are defendants in lawsuits, and

84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year

So, is this the NBA or NFL?

Neither, it’s the 535 members of the United States Congress.

Orange Blossom Honey

If you accomplish just one task during the next seven days, make sure it’s purchasing a bottle of Orange Blossom Honey hand soap by the Savannah Bee Company.

It’s from a new line of products at Bath and Body Works that smell warm, heavy, sweet and delicious.

My Sister

Here’s a photo of my sister, Katie, who lives in Anaheim, Calif., and who I miss something awful.

Apple Computer, Moving Forward

Could any of these prototypes come true?
