Overheard At Walgreens Yesterday

A male customer to a female Walgreens employee: “I’m looking for some hand lotion, but not one that smells like a girl. I mean, I like how girls smell, I just don’t want to smell like a girl.”

Then he nervously laughed and sheepishly punched the employee on her arm.

Urban Outfitters Comes To Omaha

My home town got a bit cooler last week when Omaha’s first (and probably only) Urban Outfitters opened its doors downtown. I managed to make a quick trip to the store after work but before a 6 p.m. meeting on Thursday.

Urban Outfitters is just a few doors down from Slowdown, the music venue opened and managed by Saddle Creek Records.

The two-story store is everything I’d hope it would be: clothes and home decor everywhere. I didn’t have enough time to shop for myself, but I picked up a hilarious T-shirt for Matt, which features a youthful James Bond (played by Sean Connery) surrounded by 1960s-era females wearing white bathing suits.

You can rest assured I’ll make many a visit to Urban Outfitters in the coming weeks, in search of sweaters and jeans and All Things Fall.

Here’s what our Urban Outfitters looks like from the outside.
